Thomas has recently completed a doctorate degree at Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY and has just begun teaching at the Peabody Institute of Music of The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. A native of Rockport, Massachusetts, award-winning guitarist Brendan Evans has been lighting up the guitar scene in Philadelphia for many years now. His passionate playing of carefully selected repertoire has garnered him quite a following. Brendan’s performance in 2013 was one of our best, and you may have seen him playing in our members concerts solo and with the Philadelphia Guitar Quartet of recent years, to rave reviews. We can’t wait to have him return to our stage for a full solo concert. There’s a reason luthier David Pace calls him “The real deal.” Join us on November 17th and discover for yourself. |

“Perry and Lyons’ performance was utterly synchronized, summoning the Orpheus-like text in lilting lines and a heartbreaking ascendancy of chords.” – Image-Music-Text. Baltimore guitarist Jeremy Lyons has been a friend of the Wilmington Classical Guitar since the very beginning. Jeremy performed in our first concert in 2010, and we’ve been pleased to feature him twice more as a soloist, in 2014 at the Music School of Delaware, and in 2015 at West Chester University. Since that first performance with us Jeremy has completed his Master’s and Doctoral degrees with the esteemed maestro Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory, composed music for mixed ensembles such as the Pique Collective, and completed torturous training to become an ultra (100 mile) runner. Jeremy is joined in this concert by accomplished soprano Lisa Perry, who perform’s with Jeremy regularly. Lisa performs frequently in the greater Baltimore area with various ensembles and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Peabody Conservatory. This will be a night to remember.
We’ll also be hosting a masterclass with Jeremy Lyons & Lisa Perry on Saturday, February 23 at 1:30pm. Auditing and enjoying the class is free, and there are still performance slots left. Full details are on our website. |

Our very first concert at Presbyterian Church of the Covenant in October of 2016 was an amazing success, in no small part due to the enormous talent of our featured artist, Alec Holcomb. His assured and virtuosic playing easily won us over, and his recent arrangements of a number of pieces by Isaac Albéniz captured our hearts. We were so blown away that we couldn’t wait any longer to have him back. Since performing for us in 2016, Alec has completed his undergraduate degree at Curtis Institute of Music, and begun his masters studies at San Francisco Conservatory with Judicaël Perroy (teacher of GFA winner’s Thibaut Garcia and Xaviar Jara). We can’t wait to see what he’s learned in the past 2 years. Don’t miss your chance to see Alec again before he’s too big for our stage!
We’ll also be hosting a masterclass with Alec Holcomb on Saturday, March 23 at 1:30pm. Auditing and enjoying the class is free, and there are still performance slots left. Full details are on our website. |
