Dear Subscriber,
“Bokyung Byun is one of the great guitarists of our time, whose musical, technical and creative brilliance is at once masterful, virtuosic, powerful, elegant, genuine and deeply compelling.” – Sharon Isbin
We’re fresh back from our holiday break and eager to be presenting one of the very best up-and-coming guitarists playing today. Join us Saturday, February 22nd for our first concert of 2020 with Korean guitarist Bokyung Byun (details below). Bo is the epitome of what makes a musician excellent, navigating the most difficult repertoire with grace and ease, coaxing every note to its fullest musical potential. You can tell I’m a fan, but I’m not the only one. Ms. Byun recently won the prestigious JoAnn Falletta Concerto Competition, beating out our last year’s GFA Touring artist TY Zhang, and just last spring she took second place in the GFA International Concert Artist competition, coming in close behind our April artist and current touring GFA Winner Raphaël Feuillâtre!
But don’t take my word for it, have a listen for yourself! Bokyung recently visited the GSI showroom in California to record on some of their amazing guitars. Take a listen and allow yourself to be captured by her delightfully inventive playing.
