Greetings WCGS Members!
Salon coming up this Sunday! Concerts coming up all over the place! The season is in full swing.
Upcoming Concert: Andrea González Caballero
We’re kicking off our eleventh concert season on October 19th at 7:30 pm at Presbyterian Church of the Covenant with the incredibly talented Spanish guitarist Andrea González Caballero. Considered one of today´s most acclaimed young guitarists, Andrea distinguishes herself with her confident, sensitive and expressive playing. Andrea is a laureate of multiple prestigious international guitar competitions, receiving First Prize and Special Prize at the “XL International Competition F. Sor” (Rome), and First Prize at the “XIII Alhambra International Guitar Competition” (Valencia), of which she was the youngest guitarist to receive first prize. Already a veteran performer, Ms. González has been lauded for many performances all over the world. We feel incredibly fortunate to have her opening our season with her Delaware debut!
Works by Clerch, Rodrigo, Britten, and Albeníz.
Guest Opening Artist: Peter Delaplane
A reception featuring MyHouse Cookies will follow the concert.
We’ve been sharing a lot of videos of her on our Facebook page and Facebook WCGS Members Group page, so if you’re not already following us or joined in the group, be sure to Like our page and join our group page to be a part of the buzz. This concert is going to be awesome.

Fourth Annual WCGS Members Showcase Concert:RECAP
Thanks to everyone who came out to our Fourth Annual WCGS Members Showcase at the Delaware Art Museum. When they approached me about hosting our event there, they asked me how many people to expect. I guessed 60? Well, 60 chairs were in place and full 15 minutes before the concert was to start, and dozens of people were still pouring in. All told, around 150 patrons passed through, with 135 seated at the beginning of the show. What a day!
Performers included Bill Simmons, John Nguyen, WCGS Secretary Graham Williamson, PCGS President Kevin Cope, WCGS Treasurer Simon Varley, Dulcet Guitar Duo (Caroline Kubach & Alex Pollock), Alan Ens & WCGS President Matthew Lavanish, and Brendan Evans.
