Greetings WCGS Members!
It’s summer! Don’t leave your guitar in the car!
Annual Members Potluck BBQ
Summer is upon us, and with the emergence of summer and the conclusion of our tenth season(!) we’re looking to celebrate! It’s time for our mostly annual WCGS Members Potluck BBQ. The potluck BBQ will be held the afternoon of July 13th, from noon – 4:00 pm, so get it on your calendar! We will provide hamburgers, hotdogs and light refreshments. Please bring along your favorite dish to make it complete! BYOB
Fun for the whole family, so bring your loved ones along. Provided the weather is nice, the pool will be open for swimming and other aquatic shenanigans. It’s not uncommon to play some music at these shindigs as well, so why not bring a guitar?
The WCGS Members Potluck BBQ will be held at The Varley’s home – 8 Saw Mill Rd, Glen Mills, PA 19342
If you’re planning on coming, please sign up on our Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/events/340650156831572/ or send me a quick message to president@wilmingtonguitar.org to let me know you’re coming and how many you’ll be bringing. Thanks!
Please Join our brand new Members Only Facebook Group!
We always have such a great time talking at concerts, salons and other gatherings that we thought it would be a great idea to have an easy place to continue the conversation between events. This group is for WCGS members only, so it’s a safe space for asking questions, submitting performance videos for review, or conversing about all manner of topics. Recent posts include some performance videos by DuoDelphia (Robert Guerrero and Derek Mansen), lots of great discussion on various and varied YouTube videos, preliminary guitar ensemble discussion, and much more! There are lots of possibilities of what this Facebook group could become, so if you’re not already a member, come join us!
To access the group, go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/275482806679259/ and request to join. Either myself (Matthew) or Graham (our moderator) will be happy to hit the accept button once we see your request.

Thanks to everyone who came to our May salon. We had an amazing turnout, and a lot of fun playing on stage in the sanctuary for a change. It was also really nice to take a break from our usual critiquing and discussion to just enjoy everyone’s playing. Rest assured we’ll be doing it again, probably September or October when the sanctuary has cooled down again… Check out pictures from our salon in the Facebook group.
