Greetings WCGS Members!
Apologies for the late newsletter. Read up and hope to see you at tomorrow’s member salon!
Recap: 2018 Potluck Lecture Salon and Annual Meeting
We had a great turnout for December’s Potluck Lecture Salon and Annual Meeting, so much so that we’re already planning to make it a regular December event. Thanks to everyone who came out to hear guitarist and founder of Classical Guitar Corner podcast and Academy, Dr. Simon Powis, give a brief lecture on the musical devices of J. S. Bach, and luthier David Pace share the story of his journey to become a professional luthier, the development of his guitar design and the people he met along the way.
Needless to say, the food and company were also amazing; around 30 members and friends turned out with the typically amazing food we have enjoyed at many potlucks in the past. Whether you really enjoyed yourself or missed out on this special event, take a moment now to mark your calendar for December 15, 2019 so you don’t miss out on the next one!
January Salon
Our January salon is coming up tomorrow, Sunday January 27th at 6 pm (doors open at 5:45). Monthly salons take place at the Church of the Covenant, 503 Duncan Rd, Wilmington, DE 19809. The church is easily accessible from 95 and has ample parking on the street and in a private parking lot. Our meeting will be in the West Room, which is appropriately situated on the West side of the building. Our entrance is in the corner of the building right off the West side of the parking lot (see link).
Google directions to the Church: Presbyterian Church of the Covenant
**Also, if you are coming to the salon, please arrive between 5:45 and 6:00. I will LOCK the door at 6:00 so it is not left open and unattended. If you arrive later than 6:00, please ring the black doorbell next to the West Entrance or text me at (302) 650-8797 and I will be happy to let you in. Knocking loudly may also work.
